The reality show star has filed a suit against app developer iHandy.

<p style="text-align:justify">A picture may be worth 1,000 words to someone, but for&nbsp;<a href="https://www.revistalofficiel.com.br/pop-culture/relembre-5-das-maiores-polemicas-de-kim-kardashian-west" target="_blank"><strong>Kim Kardashian West</strong></a>, $ 40 million is the most appropriate number. Beauty mogul and reality show star has filed a lawsuit against&nbsp;<strong>iHandy Ltd.</strong>, developer of the&nbsp;<strong><em>Sweet Cam</em></strong>&nbsp;photo editing app, which allows users to virtually apply makeup. It turns out, the app had the unfortunate idea of using an unauthorised image of Kim, so she&#39;s suing the company and demanding $ 10 million in damages.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The photo in question is the one that Kardashian posted on Instagram on October 31st, 2017, to promote new products for her brand&nbsp;<strong>KKW Beauty</strong>. The court documents state that&nbsp;<strong>iHandy</strong>&nbsp;&quot;copied, cropped, manipulated and exploited&quot; the photo.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">The lawsuit claims that iHandy manipulated Kardashian West&#39;s photo into an Instagram video, showing the&nbsp;<em>Sweet Cam</em>app altering its image, which therefore engages in&nbsp;<strong>Kim&#39;s</strong>&nbsp;violation and misappropriation. Court documents note that Kardashian West has not authorised or consented to the use and manipulation of her photo.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">In addition to the $ 10 million in damages, Kardashian West is demanding that iHandy disclose how much money was made by using the photo. It also requires iHandy not to be able to use your pictures or name to promote your app.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify">Kim is not the first celebrity to have her photos misused by brands and companies. <a href="https://www.revistalofficiel.com.br/moda/ariana-grande-processa-forever-21-anos-em-mais-de-r-40-milhoes-entenda"><strong>Ariana Grande</strong> sued Forever 21 for $ 10 million after the retailer launched an advertising campaign that replicated and included video clips from her <em>Thank U, Next&nbsp;</em>album</a>. The date of the Kardashian West trial against iHandy has not yet been disclosed.</p>
