In September 2025, Milan once again became the stage for one of the most mesmerizing shows in the world &mdash; Milan Fashion Week. For seven days, the city became a magnet for everyone who lives, breathes, and creates fashion. Among those observing and experiencing this event from behind the lens were photographer Daria Shilova&nbsp;and stylist Anna Berg from Riga.

Daria (@<a href="https://www.instagram.com/keepasecretphoto/">keepasecretphoto</a>) specializes in fashion photography and shoots fashionistas right on the streets, backstage, and between shows. Daria: I never imagined that I would ever attend Fashion Week. You know, it's like dreaming of becoming a princess from a Disney cartoon when you're a child. Working at fashion week is a huge step forward in a photographer's professional development. Shooting in such a dynamic and intense environment requires instant reactions, the ability to adapt to different lighting conditions, and finding a way out of the most unpredictable situations. This is invaluable experience for any creative person. And if your fashion week shots make it into major publications or international online platforms, it's a real chance to make a name for yourself, strengthen your portfolio, and gain recognition outside your country.

Anna: Every fashion week is a challenge for me. Before traveling, I study all the collections and current trends again. It's important not only to choose the right clothes, but also to think through every detail so that the looks attract attention while remaining modern and reflecting the DNA of the brands.
On the one hand, fashion weeks help hone and showcase stylistic skills, and on the other, they develop our eye for detail. It's also a great way to develop your personal brand, as street style photos can end up in leading global fashion publications.

Daria: Street style during fashion week is a real laboratory of living fashion. There are no staged shots or strict rules here&mdash;only improvisation, emotions, and genuine individuality. I can experiment with angles and lighting, observe how people express themselves through style, and create shots that inspire and energize new creative projects.
Anna: Fashion Week is a unique opportunity to express yourself, make new acquaintances, exchange experiences with colleagues from different countries, and, of course, see the collections live. It's a real immersion in the fashion industry that changes your perception and broadens your horizons.

Anna: To those who are just starting out in this field, I can say one thing&mdash;don't be afraid of anything&mdash;just give it your all in your field. Fashion weeks open up incredible opportunities if you are active, open, and sociable. It's important to pay attention to details, develop your eye, and hone your fashion sense &mdash; that's what helps you grow and find your style.

KEY INSIGHTS FROM MILAN FASHION WEEK

Anna: I was particularly inspired by the contrasting color combinations during the shows &mdash; color blocking will be back in fashion this spring. And also by the interesting textures: feathers, fringe, mesh, patent leather. It's a real playground for experimentation!
Daria: Fashion Week is amazing in its diversity. At the same time, it brings everything together &mdash; energy, people, style, emotions, and visual stories that unfold before you at almost every moment. For a photographer, it's like being at the epicenter of a visual storm, where any glance, movement, or random silhouette can tell you more than sometimes an entire studio shoot.
